Resting, adventuring, laughing, and learning on Living Free was not only a healing time for me but also it was one of the most exciting 5 days of my life. I’m still processing it!
I definitely hit a wall this past year and felt stuck in many different ways. Being on the sailboat really opened my eyes and reminded me what life is all about; Jesus, fellowship, joy, and dreaming!
Having Janny teach me how to sail on the Hobie was incredible. I was learning to steer and figure out how to catch wind and once I felt the sail pick up the wind it was unbelievable. I totally overthought it and was like there’s no way I can do this. Janny is so fun and she made me realize it wasn’t that difficult and that I was more than capable to catch that wind. I will definitely remind myself of that little adventure on the Hobie when I feel like I’m under qualified to take on a new venture in my life.
I really do feel changed from being on the Denton’s boat those 5 days. Wish it was longer!

Thank you Steve, Janny and Gracie for a wonderful time in your delightful home on the water. I'm reflecting on the the memories, and realizing the gift that God bestowed on me. It was a true awakening: the ocean, the freedom , the peace... what more can I say. Your boat an island of refuge from the storm. It brought me back the freedom I needed to dream again. The cozy cabin, the warmth of friendship new and old, all combined to make life worth living. Thank you for love. Hope to see you again on the "high seas" of life. Your friend, Bill |
Sailing with Living Free Adventures
Song of Songs 2:10-13: My beloved spoke, and said to me: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. 11 For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. 12 The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove Is heard in our land. 13 The fig tree puts forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grapes give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away!
An invitation to come away…When my life has been incredibly difficult and to the point of overwhelmed, I hear the Lord say to me: “Come away.” This coming away is for my good. It is to experience a shift in routines, plans, and my everyday way of going about the things I do. For me to take time to say: “Yes! Here I am!” To go on a journey that brings refreshment, rest, growth and adventure. When I say yes, and I go, life shifts and life lifts me up. My relationships with the Lord and others are strengthened, my perspectives change, my body is refreshed and my faith tank is filled. In saying yes to something different or new, I am renewing myself, expanding my possibilities into new ideas and places. It is a time for surveying the fruit of my life looking for growth. It is time to hear what my Beloved is saying to me. It is my compass recalibration and my course of life assessment.
Taking the time to sail with Living Free Adventures has shifted mountains in my life. The time spent in fellowship, rest, experiencing surprises from the Lord, and doing life differently than I do at home, has made a major difference in my life at a very key time. Sailing away is my way of coming away to be with Him. Maritime Leadership has made this possible for me. I am grateful and thankful for the fruit created by being with the staff of Living Free Aventures.
